Below was our daily Chicago Fluxfest itinerary. I’ve inserted my photos below per each day, though these by no means represent most of the actual performances. I’ve just managed to capture a few “off” moments when I actually had time to take photos. Descriptions and people’s names are missing, though I’ve made a few NOTES within the schedule to make important attributions to artists’ works that I’ve photographed.

FEB 21 -24

Feb 21 – Thurs evening Opening
Mail Art Exhibit – DNC 2012;
School of the Art Institute Library
37 S. Wabash Ave., 5th FL
(Note: The Joan Flasch Artist’s Book Collection had laid out many choice Fluxus publications for us, as well as two interesting projects; One – The Clutch Gallery, which is on loan to the Society of Smallness, run by Georgina Valverde, for a period of six months. Alexis Petroff’s “Floating Drawings” were installed in the Clutch Gallery when we saw it displayed with other fluxus materials on the table, and Alexis Petroff visited us just after I had unrolled his Floating Drawings, took photos, and returned them to their boxes in the left slot of the Clutch Gallery; and Two – A series of 11 jars by Abigail Marguerite Dreier: Read more about her project at http://digital-libraries.saic.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/jfabc/id/6288/rec/1)

Mail Art Exhibit and John Cage performance
Keith Buchholz installed lots of old radio’s on pedestals and distributed John Cage’s written words for Cage’s score “INDETERMINACY” — which also involves people randomly adjusting the channels/volumes on the radio as people took turns reading Cage’s words. HERE is a video that caught me in the act – though dozens of others also read Cage’s words from cards. Click the link below for the full audio file documentation:

Note: A costume designed by Carron Little is modeled in the last two photos below by Kerry Courtney and Виктория Барвенко (we called her “Vikka”). Vikka and Svetlana Pesetskaya traveled from Russia to participate. They have their own gallery space and call their group “FLUXRUS” (affiliated with ours which we maintain is “fluxus”, the attitude).
